April 5th--meeting and program
NOT YOUR PARENT’S LIBRARY!!! That does sound strange, but public libraries now not only lend books out as in our parents’ time, but much, much more. Our speaker will be Erin Christmas, the Director of the Riverside Public Library. She will enlighten us about the many other items the library can lend you, from toys to tools. Erin will also describe the various services that are now provided to help our community. Some of them may surprise you.
And when you come to the meeting, don’t forget to bring the new or gently used books sitting on your shelves at home. We will be donating to the Friends of the Riverside Public Library. The Friends sell your book donations at unreasonably low prices. The money earned by these sales is granted to the Library to help pay the costs of programs and materials.
Since spring is in the air, we are happy to welcome back Marsaisa Byrd. Marsaisa is a singer that our parents would love. He performs in many styles including opera, jazz, musical theater, standards and folk. His melodious voice will bring back the memories of some of our favorite songs.

We have been in Riverside for over 60 years! We are currently a 240+ strong membership who gather for fellowship, touring, and community service. Visit us the first Saturday of every month (except January) at the Goeske Center, 5257 Sierra Street, Riverside. Come at 9:30 am for refreshments. At 10:00 am we have informative guest speakers, then some lively entertainment, and conclude with a short business meeting that includes our Tour Escorts who update us on Day Tours and Extended Tours being offered. |
