August 2 meeting and program
The Spanish Town Heritage Foundation is dedicated to preserving the rich Hispanic legacy of the Inland Empire’s first settlers by sharing stories, create cultural learning opportunities, and lead community efforts to restore and revitalize La Placita de los Trujillos as a historic site of education entertainment and the arts. La Placita de los Trujil-los is located in today’s Northside neighborhood in Riverside.
The Foundation was founded in 2014 by three cousins, Nancy Melendez, Suzanne Armas and Darlene Trujillo-Elliot. Our speaker will be one of the cousins, Nancy Melendez.
We will be hearing from Robert Martinez, also known as Cowboy Bob, who has been performing around two years. He sings songs from the 50’s and 60’s, 90’s, and gospel. His repertoire includes songs of Elvis, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash and Tom Jones.

We have been in Riverside for over 60 years! We are currently a 240+ strong membership who gather for fellowship, touring, and community service. Visit us the first Saturday of every month (except January) at the Goeske Center, 5257 Sierra Street, Riverside. Come at 9:30 am for refreshments. At 10:00 am we have informative guest speakers, then some lively entertainment, and conclude with a short business meeting that includes our Tour Escorts who update us on Day Tours and Extended Tours being offered. |
